The renovation and addition of the Columbia Branch of the Seattle Public Library was designed to respect the tradition and history of the neighborhood's 1915 Carnegie Library. The 6,825 square foot addition enjoys great park views and daylight, and includes a new reading room, children's area, study rooms and meeting room. New norman brick, concrete base and details, metal panels, and large aluminum windows were designed to complement but not match the historical building.
